The Judiciary of Uganda will convene a Special Supreme Court sitting on April 17, 2026, in honour of former Chief Justice Alfonse Chigamoy Owiny-Dollo.
According to an official notice, the session will begin at 10:00 AM in Courtroom 2, Level 2 of the Supreme Court Building.
Such sittings form part of the Judiciary’s formal calendar and are typically held to mark transitions or recognise the distinguished service of senior judicial officers. The event is expected to be attended by judges, judicial officers, members of the legal profession, and invited guests.
Owiny-Dollo, who previously served as Chief Justice, now holds emeritus status following his tenure at the helm of the Judiciary.
The notice indicates that the session will proceed as a formal court sitting rather than a public event, with attendance restricted in line with Judiciary protocols.
Further details regarding the programme have not been disclosed.
